"Nationwide is on your side" is the familiar slogan of Nationwide Insurance. Nationwide began as the Farm Bureau Mutual Automobile Insurance Company in 1925. By 1943, the company was operating in 12 states. After further expansion, the company changed its name to Nationwide. Today, the Columbus, Ohio-based insurer is one of the world's largest financial services companies with more than $157 billion in assets.
